NSE Eket branch on the 8th of March, 2020 went on a condolence to one of its passionate members, Prof. Umana Itaketo, MNSE, on the demise of his beloved wife, Late Mrs. Ima Itaketo. The branch was represented by the Vice Chairman, Engr. Hassan Natala, MNSE; Secretary General, Engr. Mrs. Edima Ita, MNSE; Treasurer, Engr. Paul Okon, MNSE; Assist. Pub. Secretary, Engr. Mrs. Mbetobong Enoh, MNSE, Engr. Dr. Abdulrasheed Babalola, MNSE and Engr. Jeremiah Bassey Edemekong, MNSE. The sudden death which occurred after a brief illness he said “has left a void in his heart that only God can fill”, stressing how fond he has become of her. Reminiscing how they would sit and have a gist every Sunday after church service and the sad aspect of waking up every morning just to remember she is no more.
The Vice Chairman, Engr. Haasan Natala, MNSE speaking on behalf of the branch, firstly, tendered an apology for the delayed visit.
The Vice Chairman did not hesitate to encourage and comfort the bereaved, reminding him that it is only God that knows truly what he is feeling and experiencing at such a time as he shall surely be comforted by the Almighty God.
Engr. Dr. Abdulrasheed Babalola, MNSE who also gave words of encouragement to the bereaved, stressed on the need to show strength in this emotional period, as the children utter mostly will benefit of it.
More words of advice from other members of the branch present were met with joy and appreciation from Prof. Umana Itaketo, MNSE. He appreciated the presence of the Branch and promised to give updates on the burial plans.
The visit ended with a brief prayer of comfort and provision for the bereaved.
