The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Eket branch was present to witness one of her members, Engr. Paul Okon, MNSE deliver his public lecture at the Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden, Akwa Ibom state on 10th April 2019. The lecture, which was titled "Superconductivity: Innovations and Advancement in Modern Electrical Engineering Research", was presented to the Department of Electrical/Electronics Engineering during their Society of Electrical/Electronics Engineering Students (SEEES) day.
The NSE Eket team was led by the branch chairman, Engr. Aniebiet Udoh, MNSE. The team also comprised of the Vice Chairman, Engr. Hassan Natala, MNSE; External Relations Officer Young Engineers Forum Of Nigeria (YEFON), Mr. Ugochukwu Mberede; Programs Officer YEFON, Mr. Emmanuel Adenola; Liaison Officer YEFON, Ms. Oyedoyin Ajani and host of other young engineers.
The event also witnessed the inauguration of the students' wing of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (N.I.E.E.E) Eket chapter in the institution. Vice chairman of the chapter, Engr. Okon represented the Chapter Chairman, Engr. T.J Manam, FNSE. A new executive was sworn in to steer the affairs of the wing for the next academic year.
Other dignitaries present were: a member of the National Excos of NSE, Engr. (Dr.) Abdulrasheed Babalola, MNSE; Head of Department Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engr. (Dr.) U.M Ekpe; Immediate past H.O.D, Engr. (Dr.) Enyenihi Johnson, a lecturer of the department and an active member of the branch, Engr. (Mrs.) Mbetebong Enoh, MNSE.
